Lekker (LACK-er) words, a long way from home
Where it started
Now-Now Goods began with a simple thought: the words you grew up with deserve a place on the fridge. Afrikaans is full of words that never quite translate (kuier KAY-er, genade chuh-NAH-duh, ch as in loch, sies SEES, jislaaik YIS-like), and every South African family has its own way of saying them.
Each magnet pairs a single word with its meaning and a rough guide to saying it. They're for South Africans who've made a home in the US, and for the Americans in their lives who keep asking, "Wait, what does that mean?"
Why "Now-Now"?
Ask a South African when something will happen and you might hear "just now" (later), "now" (soon-ish) or "now-now" (sooner… probably). It's the most South African way to tell time. Our magnets? Worth the wait.
